INIOAS and IIEES Sign MoU on Scientific, Educational, and Research Cooperation

On the sidelines of the Exhibition of Research, Technology Achievements and Tech-Market, a Scientific, Educational, and Research Cooperation Agreement was signed on Saturday, December 22, between the National Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Science (INIOAS) and the International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (IIEES).

Iran participated in the IOCINDIO side event held during the Second International Indian Ocean Science Conference (IIOSC) on 2 December 2025 in Hyderabad, India. The Iranian delegation, joining online, presented the country’s recent scientific achievements and regional initiatives.

Iranian National Institute for Oceanography and Atmospheric Science (INIOAS) and the Second Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources of China (SIO/MNR), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand collaborative research in deep-sea science and technology.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has appointed the Iranian National Institute for Oceanography and Atmospheric Science (INIOAS) as the **Convenor of the “Soluble Silica” Working Group for a three-year term. The decision was endorsed by 17 member countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, China, Japan, Russia, France, and South Korea.

The President of the Iranian National Institute for Oceanography and Atmospheric Science (INIOAS) has appointed Dr. Babak Moradi as the Acting Director of the President’s Office and Public Relations, and Ms. Parisa Habibi as the Acting Director of the Central Laboratory Affairs, through two separate decrees.

Iran’s Minister of Science, Research and Technology has appointed Dr. Ali Mahdinia as the Acting President of the Iranian National Institute for Oceanography and Atmospheric Science (INIOAS).
