The presence of the research institute in the expert meeting of drafting the agreement for scientific research cooperation in the Caspian Sea

The National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, as a representative of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, participated in the expert meeting on the drafting of the agreement on the cooperation of marine scientific research in the Caspian Sea.

According to the public relations report of the research institute, in this meeting that was held on Monday, November 8, 1402, hosted by the country of Turkmenistan, with the presence of representatives  The five coastal states of the Caspian Sea include the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan  It was held virtually, regarding cooperation in the field of scientific research in the Caspian Sea and negotiations to complete and compile a draft agreement on cooperation in marine scientific research in the Caspian Sea. Representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including experts from the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences as representatives of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, participated in this meeting, which was held in Russian. In this meeting, while actively participating in the discussions, expert opinions were announced and opinions were exchanged on all clauses and words of the draft memorandum, as well as the proposed new items and amendments.

Expert meetings to compile the mentioned document, following the proposed draft  The country of Turkmenistan, under the title of intergovernmental cooperation agreement of the coastal countries of the Caspian Sea in the field of scientific research in the Caspian Sea, began in 1997 and until now the representatives of the research institute have actively participated in the compilation of this important research document.

This document will be a scientific agreement between the 5 countries bordering the Caspian Sea with the aim of determining the framework of cooperation in marine scientific research between the coastal states of this sea. 

At the end of the meeting, it was decided that the next meeting will be held next month.
