Holding a training course "Familiarity with atmospheric hazards in Iran" during Basij week
During the Basij commemoration week, the training course "Familiarization with Atmospheric Hazards in Iran" is organized by the mobilization of Shahid Morteza Avini employees of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences.
According to the public relations report of the research institute, in this training course, which will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2014, from 10:00 to 12:00 in the meeting hall of the research institute, Dr. Parveen Ghafarian, a member of the research institute's academic staff, will give a lecture on meteorological hazards in Iran, the role of climate change on meteorological hazards, the methods of forecasting atmospheric hazards and how to adapt to climate change.
Ghafarian said that Iran is a vast country with complex topography and wide water borders in the north and south, as well as a diverse climate, and said: Every year, many weather hazards occur in Iran. Natural phenomena such as storms, floods, droughts, dust, etc. are among atmospheric hazards that may cause a lot of damage to humans and the environment. These risks can occur due to climate changes, atmospheric conditions and the formation of unexpected phenomena.
He stated the purpose of holding this workshop is to learn about atmospheric hazards and investigate their causes, and he further stated regarding the reduction of these hazards: To reduce the effects of atmospheric hazards, measures such as education and warning, designing information systems and creating emergency networks can be done.
