Dr. Mohammad Ashuri, the representative of the people of Bandar Abbas in the Islamic Council, while visiting the "Persian Gulf Explorer" vessel, said: Using the capacity of the Persian Gulf Explorer can draw a correct road map in the development of the country's maritime axis.

According to the public relations report of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, Ashouri said: I have been involved in the construction of this native ocean probe since the beginning of its construction at the Shahid Darvishi complex in Bandar Abbas, and I am aware of the importance of its activity in territorial and extraterritorial waters, and now I am happy that the fruits of that great work have come to fruition.

He drew the presence of young and motivated researchers promising a bright future in the advancement of maritime activities in the country and said: the determination of the first-level officials of the system is to develop maritime-oriented activities, especially in Makran area. The determination of the parliament and the government is to support the activities that are carried out especially in the area of Makran. Currently, the country's biggest gap in the development of coastal and marine areas is the lack of studies and the lack of access to appropriate research data, which in its absence can cause serious damage to the sustainable development of these areas.

Dr. Seyyed Masoud Mahmudov, Vice President of Technology of the Research Institute, also said during this visit: Having unique research equipment and capacities in the Persian Gulf probe has turned this vessel into a national treasure in the field of marine research.

He added: The maintenance and improvement of the equipment as well as the capabilities of the Persian Gulf exploration vessel in order to develop the scientific-research activities of this national vessel, requires the allocation of credits commensurate with the very high costs of seafaring.

Mahmudov stated: The colleagues of the research institute, with their round-the-clock and committed efforts, have been able to overcome the numerous defects of the vessel and increase its operational capacity during the past year by going through the expensive and time-consuming process of docking the vessel.
