Holding the 22nd meeting of the Supreme Council of the Union of Coastal and Maritime Universities and Research Centers

The 22nd meeting of the Supreme Council of the Union of Universities and Coastal and Marine Research Centers will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 1403 at the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences.

According to the research institute's public relations report, in this meeting, which is held on the occasion of the national day of the Persian Gulf, the actions of universities and maritime research centers are supposed to be carried out in the direction of achieving the goals of the general policies of sea-oriented development announced by the Supreme Leader  To be discussed and discussed. 

Also, the request for new memberships and the election of the new chairman and secretary of the Union of Coastal and Marine Research Centers and Universities will be discussed in this meeting. 

According to the program of the meeting, the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences is supposed to introduce the capacities and capabilities of the "Persian Gulf probe" and present a report on the recent patrols of this probe and its future research programs in the southern water basins of the country. 

It is worth mentioning that the Union of Coastal and Marine Universities and Research Centers was established in 2016 in order to coordinate and expand the educational and research interaction between the country's universities and marine research centers and to improve the level of marine sciences at the suggestion of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences. Since then, 19 universities and research centers have joined by holding 21 meetings of the Supreme Council with the presence of the presidents or representatives of the member universities.

 Among the most important actions and achievements of the union so far are holding meetings of specialized working groups, compiling the statutes and regulations related to the activities of the union, meeting with the officials and officials of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and senior marine managers of the country, including the issue of oceanography as one of the priorities in the comprehensive scientific map of the country, preparing a strategic document for the development of the country's higher education in the field of marine and ocean sciences and techniques, cooperation in holding scientific conferences such as RCOWA-2017 و RCOWA-2020Holding joint special events (Persian Gulf National Day, World Sea and Ocean Day, Caspian Sea Regional Day), development of Caspian Sea researchers website.
