The new chairman of the National Oceanographic Committee was elected
In the first meeting of the 18th session of the National Oceanographic Committee with the aim of "planning and expansion of ocean research Knowledge and coordination between maritime bodies and research institutions in sync with international programs" was held at the place of the UNESCO National Commission on Wednesday 19 May 1403, the new chairman of the committee was elected.
According to the research institute's public relations report, in this meeting, which was held with the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the West Asia Regional Center for Oceanography, the Ports and Maritime Organization, the Environmental Protection Organization, the National Meteorological Organization, the Iranian Fisheries Organization, the National Geological and Mineral Exploration Organization of the country, the National Commission of UNESCO, the Research Institute of Fisheries Sciences of the country, Tarbiat Modares University, the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping and the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, Dr. Morteza Tawakli, the head of the research institute, was elected as the new chairman of the National Oceanographic Committee.
In the continuation of the meeting, the members of the committee, while presenting a report on the scientific, cultural, propaganda and promotion measures taken on the occasion of the national day of the Persian Gulf, proposed proposals such as naming organizational units after the name of the Persian Gulf, producing and publishing scientific documents in English, as well as supporting research related to the purpose of protecting the name of the Persian Gulf. In the continuation of holding committee meetings at least once every two months, focus on the issue of marine pollution and hazards, the pathology of problems related to maritime affairs and data and information management, for The discussion was emphasized in the next meetings.
Also, Dr. Ali Mehdinia, Research-Education Vice President of the Institute, presented a report on the research programs of the Persian Gulf probe in the southern water basins and its achievements, and the members presented their suggestions for maximum use of the data obtained from the Persian Gulf probe research.
It should be mentioned that at the end of the meeting, the membership orders signed by the Minister of Science, Research and Technology were presented to the members of the National Oceanography Committee.
