A group of 11th grade students of Farzangan School visited the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences on Tuesday, November 1, 1403 and got close to marine research activities.

According to the public relations report of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, at the beginning of this visit, the students, after watching the film of marine activities and learning about the research activities of the research institute, in a sincere meeting with Dr. Morteza Tavakoli, the head of the research institute, expressed their opinions about ocean literacy and the educational application that the research institute is developing.

Considering that one of the components of sea-oriented development is to increase society's awareness of the marine environment and the strategic and economic importance of the sea and the ocean in line with the development of countries, and the requirement for this is primarily to increase the ocean literacy of the society, especially of middle and high school students, the promotion of marine science and the promotion of ocean literacy have been placed on the agenda of the research institute's promotional activities.

In line with its mission and the development and promotion of oceanic literacy, and on the other hand, considering the widespread use of smart phones in various aspects of daily life, this research institute is building an oceanography application, which is aimed specifically at students and the general public. In this visit, students presented their opinions as the main audience of this educational application.

In the end, teachers and students visited the laboratories of marine chemistry, marine physics, marine geology and marine biology and got to know marine research activities closely. In this visit, the research institute's oceanographic specialists introduced the marine research activities of the research institute, pointing to the need to better draw the research future of the country in the hands of young scientists.
