The 32nd meeting of the Assembly of National Research Institutes of the country was held

The 32nd meeting of the Assembly of National Research Institutes of the country was held with the presence of Dr. Peyman Salehi, Deputy Researcher of the Ministry of Science and hosted by the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences.

 According to the research institute's public relations report, in this meeting, which was held in the presence of Dr. Peyman Salehi, Deputy Research Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Dr. Ali Baqer Taherinia, Secretary of the National Research Institutes Association and Head of the Higher Education Research and Planning Institute, as well as the heads of the member research institutes of the association, there was a discussion and exchange of opinions about some of the previous approvals, as well as educational, research and student issues of the research institutes and research centers.

At the beginning of this meeting Dr. Taheri Nia While appreciating and thanking Dr. Salehi and the members of the assembly for attending the meeting and hosting the research institute, he presented a report on the programs and activities of the assembly, and further referring to the circular of the ministry of honor regarding the assignment of the mission of holding knowledge-enhancing workshops for higher education managers to the institute in the year 2017, announced the institution's readiness to hold a workshop for heads and board members of universities and research institutes. He also demanded that members of the forum present their experiences in the field of international interactions and self-reliance financing policies in future meetings.

The deputy minister of science and the head of the research and planning institute of higher education also requested to send the second report of the performance of the research institutes member of the assembly and said: after receiving the performance reports of the research institutes, we intend to publish the performance report of the research institutes in a better form and with a better quality than the first report.

Dr. Taheri Nia while referring to the demographic situation of the country and the topics that are sometimes contradicted in the cyber space suggested that a picture of the demographic situation and horizon of the country should be included in the agenda of the next meeting by Dr. Mahmoudi. He added that, naturally, this population horizon has different meanings for different areas, for example, for the institution's areas, it follows the prediction of the student population, and in other areas, it follows the prediction of the labor force.

In addition, Amir Mursali, Director of Public Relations of Research and Planning Institute and  The official of the secretariat of the assembly explained a report of some neglected approvals to the attendees and demanded that the members of the assembly take steps to implement some of the neglected approvals with the diligence of the members. 

Dr. Hamid Omidre, head of Materials and Energy Research Institute Also, in this meeting, a report of the activities carried out, including:  He presented the finalization of the document of advanced materials in the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution and sending it to the designated council, and further, regarding the population, he said that the population should not be seen as a single parameter, the population needs infrastructure. 

Dr. Morteza Tavakoli, head of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, Also, in this meeting, he first thanked Dr. Salehi for his attention to the issues of research institutes and then presented a report on the capabilities, capacities and activities of research, laboratory and field in the research institute.

He continues from Becoming an associate professor for 7 members of the faculty, establishing a growth center, clearing the debt of 96 billion tomans to the municipality, establishing a national sea-oriented development center, upgrading the website of the research center in three languages (English, Farsi and Arabic), accepting a doctoral student, designing an ocean literacy application in collaboration with UNESCO, working in the field of Antarctic navigation, pursuing the creation of an oceanographic station on Abu Musi Island, recruiting 7 new faculty members and sending 5 members of the scientific faculty to study opportunities abroad listed as the main cases in the research institute's performance.

Tavakli also introduced the Persian Gulf probe and gave some tips about the specifications, activities and programs of the probe and further announced the use of the national capacity (Persian Gulf probe) for any joint cooperation with the members of the national research institutes of the country.

Dr. Peyman Salehi, Research Deputy of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology Also, in this meeting, he requested to prepare a report on the capability of the research institutes to present to the highest official of the ministry and said that after the reports of the members of the assembly are prepared, a meeting with the presence of the highest official of the ministry will be on the agenda to present the report of the research institutes.

Regarding the budget of the research institutes, he also pointed out that the follow-up of the budget increase should be done accurately and completely and only by submitting an effectiveness report, and any request should be accompanied by an expert report.

Regarding the admission of students by the research institutes, Salehi stated that research institutes have accepted 320 students this year.

Regarding the upcoming 25th research, technology and technology exhibition, the research deputy of the Ministry of Ataf said: This year's exhibition is very detailed, therefore, due to the presence of high-ranking officials on the first day of the opening, the research institutes should appear this year with maximum power and capacity.  Introduce your achievements.

He mentioned inviting students to the booth of research institutes as programs of other research institutes and added:  In order to advertise and promote science, technology and technology, the market should interact and coordinate with the education areas so that students can use the platform of the Research Week exhibition.

He added: In the matter of scientific authority, ranking 14th in terms of the quantity of science production, ranking 50th in the world in terms of the number of registered inventions, placing 20 Iranian universities in the ranking systems below 500, is one of the big goals in the field of science and technology authority.

Judge Noori listed ten issues and problems in the field of science and technology, including: the evaluation system of science and technology, the governance structure and the management of universities and research institutes, the financing system of science and technology, the aim of higher education, the development of key skills in universities, attracting, empowering and maintaining human capital, science and technology diplomacy, the development and promotion of humanities and basic sciences, the application of knowledge and commercialization, and the knowledge-based economy, and said that these ten issues should be discussed and thought about.
