It was held in the Fajr decade: teaching oceanic literacy to the students of "Bishra" high school.

On the occasion of the auspicious decade of Fajr, an educational and promotional class about the importance of seas and oceans (ocean literacy) was held for girls' high school "Bashra" in Tehran. 

According to the public relations report of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, in this training course, which aims to increase students' awareness  Regarding the importance of seas and oceans and their role in the global economy and environment, topics such as: introduction of oceanography, history of ocean formation, introduction of world oceans, natural phenomena such as waves, currents and tides, types of marine organisms such as planktons, nektons and benthos, history of Iranian seafaring, types of marine pollutants, sampling methods and ways to protect the marine environment were explained to the students by the experts of the research institute.

Also, in this educational course, the research achievements of the research institute in the fields of marine, oceanic and atmospheric sciences were explained to the students. 

It should be noted that this educational program not only helps to increase the scientific knowledge of students, but also familiarizes them with their role and responsibility towards the marine environment and the importance of ocean sciences in the sustainable development of the country, that by holding such programs, the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences has taken effective steps in the direction of promoting science and increasing public awareness in the fields related to seas and oceans.
