According to the public relations report of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, it announced that it has received a "Shamad" license (digital license number) for its educational mobile application called "Ocean Journey" from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance by the publishing unit of the research institute.

Protecting the marine environment and its valuable resources requires the existence of expert and knowledgeable human resources in various fields of marine sciences. Based on this, the concept of "ocean literacy" has been defined as a global necessity that helps people understand the basic principles of the oceans, establish a meaningful relationship with the sea, and make responsible decisions about it.

In order to promote the protection of natural resources, ocean literacy and education for sustainable development, this research institute, in cooperation with the Regional Center for Oceanography of West Asia and the financial support of the UNESCO office in Tehran, has designed and produced the "Ocean Journey" application. The aim of this plan is to educate the future generation and educate people who are aware, committed and equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to protect the marine environment.

This application, which is specially designed for high school students, presents its educational content in the form of various topics, including:

* Marine biology

* Marine geology

* Physical and chemical oceanography

*   Sea pollution

* Climate change

* Renewable energies

*   The relationship between man and the sea

This application will be available to regional and world users in Persian, English and Arabic languages.

This project has been completed under the support of Dr. Tawakli, the head of the National Research Institute of Oceanography, and with the management and translation of the English department by Mrs. Foroughi, the director of the international department of the research institute. Also in user interface design (UI) educational posters Mr. Mohammad Purohid and Dr. Babak Mardadi have collaborated in the technical and supervision department.

This application will be unveiled soon.
