Iran and China joint training workshop on evaluation, reduction of effects and adaptation in the field of climate-oceanic changes
According to the public relations report of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, the international workshop "Evaluation, reduction of effects and adaptation to climate-oceanic changes" will be held in cooperation with East China Normal University, from October 30 to November 2, 1404.
This workshop is held with the aim of providing a platform for dialogue, exchange of knowledge and promotion of scientific cooperation between researchers of the two countries in the field of oceanic climate change. The main axes of this scientific event will include the investigation of the consequences of climate change on coastal ecosystems, solutions to reduce the effects, adaptation to new conditions, the use of nature-based solutions, blue carbon, marine spatial planning, as well as new policies and technologies.
The participants of this workshop include prominent researchers, policy makers, graduate students and young scientists from Iran and China. Also, special training sessions on writing and publishing scientific articles, data analysis and scientific innovations related to climate change have been prepared for young researchers.
This event is a continuation of the joint scientific cooperation of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences of Iran in the international project "Integrated Marine Biosphere Research (IMBeR)" with the Normal University of East China and the Scientific Committee for Ocean Research (SCOR) and with the representation of Dr. Maryam Qaemi from the research institute. This workshop will be held with the financial support of Iran National Science Foundation (INSF) and National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
Previous collaborations in the form of visits to East China University, scientific meetings and international activities have provided a suitable platform for strengthening scientific relations and developing capacity building between the two countries. Holding this event is an important step in promoting regional and international scientific cooperation in the field of climate change and oceanography.
