Development of cooperation between Qeshm Institute of Higher Education and National Research Institute of Oceanography

According to Isna/Hormozgan/ the head of Qeshm Azad Region Higher Education Institute visited the "Persian Gulf Explorer" research vessel and announced the increase of scientific and research cooperation of this institute with the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences.  

Mustafa Ali Naqizadeh said: scientific and research cooperation between Qeshm Institute of Higher Education and the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences is being developed with the aim of creating common research areas and participation in scientific tours in the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea.  

Referring to his visit to the "Persian Gulf Explorer" research vessel, Naghizadeh added: "This visit was done in order to check the joint scientific and research capacities and strengthen the communication between the two complexes."  

The head of Qeshm Institute of Higher Education continued: The Persian Gulf exploration vessel docked in the south of Qeshm Island to carry out geophysical and hydrochemical operations of water and sediment, and these missions play an important role in the scientific knowledge of the sea and oceans.  

Emphasizing the importance of mastering the sea and the ocean in maintaining the country's security and developing the sea-oriented economy, he said: the activities of the Persian Gulf marine probe are carried out in this direction and with the aim of supporting specialized research.  

According to ISNA, citing the public relations of the Qeshm Free Zone Organization on Wednesday, 26 September, the Persian Gulf Marine Explorer is an advanced 50-meter vessel with a width of 10 meters and a height of 12 meters, which can carry out field research in the Persian Gulf, the Oman Sea and the northern Indian Ocean for up to 45 days and three thousand nautical miles with a capacity of 27 people (11 crew and 16 researchers) and a full supply of water and fuel.  

This research vessel is the only research vessel in Iran that was designed and built by domestic experts and is equipped with modern equipment for measuring and sampling water and sediments, investigating the seabed and conducting physics, chemistry, biology and marine geology studies.
