Obtaining the mark of the highest level of technology maturity by the educational application "Ocean Voyage"

"Ocean Journey" educational application Ocean Journey", which was designed and produced in the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, is the highest level of technological maturity.TRL 9) from the technology evaluation system of the Ministry of Ataf.

According to the research institute's public relations report, in line with supporting the protection of natural resources, ocean literacy and education for sustainable development, as well as for educating a generation that is aware, literate, committed and protective of the marine environment, the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences and the Regional Center for Oceanography of West Asia, in cooperation with the UNESCO office in Tehran, designed an educational application to provide education about marine and ocean sciences.

Dr. Ali Mehdinia,  The director of the research institute said in this regard: "This easy-to-use application is the result of the efforts of the experts of the research institute in the field of promoting ocean literacy in the country, which was developed with the aim of teaching specialized concepts of marine sciences, especially for students and those interested in the marine field, and by using various educational methods including text, images, posters and interactive tests, it is a scientific and practical resource for teaching concepts in areas such as marine biology, marine chemistry, marine physics, marine geology, marine organisms, climate change, Coral ecosystems and mangrove forests. This application is now available on all major platforms, including the App Store, Google Play, and the official website of the research institute.

It should be mentioned that the Ocean Travel application has previously received the "Shamad" badge from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and has been produced and operated in three languages: Persian, English and Arabic.  According to this report, the coverage of various topics of marine sciences, presentation of educational content in the form of text and attractive posters, user-friendly design, the possibility of participating in the test and receiving a certificate, and presentation on different platforms were mentioned as key features of this application.
