On the eve of the research and technology week of 1404, Dr. Ali Mehdinia, head of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, announced the various programs of this research institute to honor this week. Emphasizing the key role of research in the sustainable development of the country, especially in the field of marine and ocean sciences, he said: "The research week is a valuable opportunity to share achievements, promote science and strengthen inter-organizational cooperation. The National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences is ready to play its role in advancing the country's oceanic knowledge with extensive planning in Tehran and the north and south of the country."
The head of the research institute went on to explain the programs of the research institute's booth in the research week exhibition (from 21 to 25 December 1404) and said: "Our booth will host interesting events on different days. The unveilings of the research institute will be done in three areas: in the research area, the basis of development will be the "oceanographic atlas of Makran coasts" and the "Persian Gulf explorer research tour report". In the area of science promotion, we will have the unveiling of the "Ocean Travel Application" and the "Ocean" digital book. In addition to these, three specialized books published by the research institute, including the book "Illustrated zooplankton culture of the Persian Gulf and the Oman Sea", the book "Antarctic Atlas" and the book "Southern Capital" will also be unveiled at the research institute's booth
Biodiversity and Distribution in Extreme Environments" which was written in collaboration with the academic staff of the Research Institute and Shahid Beheshti University and published by Springer Publications, will be unveiled. In addition, at the research institute's booth, the story of the successful experience of the research institute in sampling from the depth of 2000 meters of the Oman Sea will be narrated and the Persian Gulf probe will be presented as the only completely research vessel in the country.
He also pointed to event programs in Tehran and various stations of the research institute and added: "At the headquarters of Tehran, in addition to setting up a booth at the exhibition of research, technology and fan market week, the 'Ocean Journey' application competition will be held for students. In Chabahar, a booth will be open at the Sadra event (industry, university, employment path) and field monitoring of physicochemical parameters of coastal waters and beach cleaning campaign in the city. Chabahar. Students of Tehran University and University of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences will visit Nowshahr port. Students and faculty members will visit Hormozgan beaches. Also, in Bushehr, a provincial meeting of faculty members of marine sciences and technologies will be signed.
Emphasizing the scientific aspect of the research week, the head of the research institute described the program of lectures and specialized meetings as follows: "From December 22 to 26, a total of 19 lectures will be held in the form of virtual lectures and specialized meetings in several areas, including oceanography and climate, oceanography and the carbon cycle, oceanography of the Caspian Sea, extraction of minerals from the sea, and the specialized meeting on marine environment protection, challenges and solutions, and the program of these lectures is posted on the website of the research institute.
