Hormozgan Maritime Higher Education Centers meeting
The think-tank meeting of Hormozgan Maritime Higher Education Centers was held with an emphasis on research synergies.
At the same time as the provincial research week, a joint meeting of marine higher education centers of Hormozgan province was held at the Marine Science Campus of Amirkabir University of Technology, under the initiative of the oceanography center of this province.
According to the public relations report of the Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, in this meeting Dr. Samad Hamzei, the head of this center, referring to the unique position of Hormozgan province as the owner of the longest water border in the country and being located in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, stated: "We are standing on the threshold of a sea that is not just a water area; It is the cradle of civilization, the highway of world trade and an unknown treasure of opportunities."
He enumerated the various capacities of this province from biological and mineral reserves to the transit position and the potential of marine renewable energy and emphasized: "But this treasure can only be opened with the key of research and technology. Elevating these capacities and turning them into sustainable wealth depends on scientific perspective, technological innovation and wise management.
The head of the Hormozgan Oceanographic Center stated the purpose of this meeting as "the beginning of a joint, responsible and sustainable work" and added: "What can speed up the path of development is the convergence and synergy of all scientific and research capitals of the province."
Dr. Hamzaei went on to discuss the operational goals of this cooperation and stated: "Our goals for this joint path are clear and pragmatic." These goals include three main axes:
Identifying and introducing the real capabilities of each of the marine research and educational centers of the province, including laboratory facilities, specialized groups, and significant achievements.
Transforming knowledge into cooperation through the design and implementation of joint research, educational and technological projects.
Networking for influence with the aim of creating a powerful intellectual arm and a trusted advisor for the province's development plans.
He pointed out: "We want these meetings to be continuous, to act in harmony and harmony, to create real synergy, and finally, to become a scientific reference that the decision-makers of the province's development can refer to with confidence."
This meeting was accompanied by a discussion on certain topics such as facilities, specialized groups and educational capacities, and it was decided to hold a series of targeted and continuous meetings to achieve common goals and sustainable development of Hormozgan province.
