"Ocean Journey" educational application was unveiled
On the second day of the research week, the "Ocean Journey" educational application was unveiled on Sunday, December 23, 1404 at the booth of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, in the exhibition of research achievements, technology and fan market.
According to the public relations report of the research institute, this application, which is designed with the aim of promoting oceanic literacy and promoting science for students, teachers and the general public, has already achieved technology readiness level 9 (TRL 9) in Iran's technology assessment system and is fully ready for exploitation and practical application.
In the unveiling ceremony of the "Ocean Journey" application, the Vice President of Research and Technology of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, the Vice President of Sciences of the UNESCO Office in Tehran and the representative of the Iranian Science Promotion Association were present and emphasized the importance of producing innovative educational tools in the field of marine sciences.
The educational application "Ocean Journey" has been produced with the joint cooperation of the West Asian Oceanographic Research and Educational Center (RCOWA) of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences and with the support of the UNESCO office in Tehran. This application is available for free and offers a variety of educational content in areas such as marine biology, marine geology, physical and chemical oceanography, sea pollution, climate change, human-sea connection, renewable energy and marine hazards.
The educational content of this application is designed in the form of posters, infographics, images and educational texts in three languages: Persian, Arabic and English. Also, after completing the training, users can participate in the relevant tests and receive a valid certificate.
The unveiling of this application during the research week is considered an effective step in the direction of developing new education, promoting science and increasing public awareness of the importance of seas and oceans.
