A joint meeting of the National Oceanographic Research Institute and the Agricultural Insurance Fund was held

 

Tehran - A joint meeting of experts of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences and the Agricultural Insurance Fund was held on Sunday, January 2, 1404, with the aim of examining the fields of scientific and specialized cooperation in the field of fish farming in the sea.

 

In this meeting, the needs of the agricultural insurance industry in the field of risk assessment and management of fish farms in cages were examined and the capabilities of the National Research Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences in providing data, information and related specialized services were introduced.

 

In this framework, the research institute announced its readiness to provide services including wind, wave and sea current data, physical and chemical information of sea water (temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen), preparation of marine hazard zoning maps, modeling and forecasting of atmospheric and marine hazards, and environmental assessments of fish farms. It was also emphasized on the role of monitoring data and early warning systems in reducing possible losses and increasing the accuracy of insurance assessments.

 

At the end of this meeting, it was decided that in the next step, a meeting will be held with the presence of the senior managers of the Agricultural Insurance Fund in order to examine the fields of cooperation in a more comprehensive way and to pursue the possibility of concluding a memorandum of understanding or a joint cooperation agreement between the two groups.

 

It should be mentioned that the development of these cooperations can play an effective role in reducing the risks of the fish farming industry in the sea, improving the insurance processes and supporting the environmental sustainability of the country's marine activities.
